Omoto The Obedient Child- Chapter Four

CHAPTER FIVE
On Thursday morning the weather was cloudy in the village of Odagbe, and all the people of the community including the plenaring were congested and felt that the world have come to the end time. And everyone both old and young was very much afraid about the matter of the world. But Rotimi and his family see this statement as a contradiction but other people of the community felt that the signed was presumed. In fact at such times, people could not see themselves as usual, this is what agitated their minds to be palpitation. After some while the earth began to be eradicating itself and every one could see again, in the village of Odagbe.
        One day, Omoto came out from his father’s house and at such time, Omoto have matured enough to know the difference between obedience and disobedience in the society.  But he was the only child of his parents and his mother was no more in the mood of having the second child for his father, because Rotimi and his wife were very much preferred to have only one child on earth, so as to obvious for them to train in the, higher institution.
        Omoto was very respectful and everyone in the community and the people of Odagbe were all cuddle Omoto than any other child of the village. The Elders of the village liked him because Omoto was too probity. If Omoto was not seen at times in their neighbors compound, they` would come and ask his parents about him and also those people of his mother’s village, they equally loved him because Omoto is always wore smile on his face on every one and very jovial but he stayed with his parents. His parents regards his gentility and Omoto loved his mother than himself and his father, interms of emotionally, but Omoto was unlike to have friends around himself just like father like son, and his parents have contributed minds on him that he should stay away from erranted friends of this new generation, especially those in the village of Odagbe and this was the particular reason why Omoto was conformable not to have friends around himself in the village.
        Omoto’s father had told him some certain reason and stories about friends relationship in their village, that so called friends will motivated him to start possessed crackpot and crabbed around the land of Odagbe, “and you actually know that your mother dislike bolony-, and even me your father, in fact I wouldn’t want anything to lingered your destiny and make you to become urchin, whereas I am alive in the village of Odagbe, you know that you are the only son we have to be proud about in this village. We definitely know that we don’t have deficient of yours.” His father said.
        So when Omoto’s parents were going to the farm as early as 5:20 a.m in the morning to enable them get to the farm on time and work before the hot sun would start heating the back of everyone while working. At such times, his father would wake Omoto up from his room and told him this is the normal time to be going to the farm and come back on time before noon.
        Omoto once understood the proposition of his father, and he didn’t want to make his father to be resentment on him, he stood up instantly and aid his father to make out his matches, cutlass and hoe, he asked his father the bag that he should took to carry cassava when coming back from the farm, thus his father told him to take the red one at the middle of the line and they left to the farm with his mother. But Omoto asked his mother to give him the basin that she carried on her hand but Omoto’s mother asked him why, “I just want to help you, because I only had awhile to help you and my father” said Omoto. But his mother felt that some young girls might saw him and his age mates that are also going to the farm, so that was why his mother felt reluctantly not to give him the basin to carry for often. “I know that you loved me so much from the bottom of your mind. I did not want to distress you.” His mother said. “My son, you know that you are the only one I have on earth, like the only clothes I have on earth.” His mother said.
        When they definitely got to the farm, they join hands together and work accordingly than the other one his father should do alone, after sometimes, Omoto went into the hut to make meal for his parents and by the time he had finished, Omoto serve his parents to their satisfaction and he also went down to the river and fetched cold water for them from the river of Okoki to trundle down the meal.
        When they return back home Omoto could not had a little rest before he decided to assist his father to wash his clothes. He probably went into the house and packed his father’s clothes including the one that are sour to wash, but at such time, his father came towards him and snatched his hand with the dirty clothes, “you cannot wash my clothes at this point, if you cannot had just a piece of rest, in fact we are just coming all the way down from oyemi. Please let’s relax,” said his father. But Omoto was ostensible to his father that he was not that much tired that he could not be able to wash his father’s clothes.
        Omoto helped his parents to wash their clothes and iron them very nicely for them; each times he helped his parents to clear around the house when growing. Omoto also assisted his mother to carry out the activities on which his mother should be responsible for at home. In fact he was loved by everyone in the village of Odagbe.
        One day, Omoto informed his parents that he would attend primary school in the land of Odagbe, and this time his father didn’t credulous about Omoto’s proposition.
        Rotimi paused for a while, and he took the expression from Omoto to go and inform his mother Erelu, “has your son  informed you that he wished to enroll into primary school yesterday?” His father enquired. “No, but of course it means he is willing to attend at this point. Please attend to him, whatever the school fees payment might be.” His mother said. Noticing that his father did not compromise, Omoto became wretch about this. Therefore, when his father saw him that he was unhappy, he called him closer, Omoto came vividly, and his father told him that by tomorrow morning, he will take him with him to go and start school. As earlier, the better said his father.
        The following morning, Omoto started the primary school in the village of Odagbe, he was very sagacious and brilliant in class five and he always came up with first position in his class. On  Friday morning, all the teachers came out and held a meeting about Omoto, that they would like to see his parents to hear from their minds concerning this sudden foster that the government had gave Omoto a double Promotion from Primary five to primary six class. Although his parents were too amazed about it, they did not well understand the statement of the teachers.
        But when Omoto came back from school, he personally informs his parents that he would no longer being paying any kobo in the school again, the government had offered him a scholarship. Omoto’s parents were very happy about the elevation of immunity their child have attained at this present level of education/hence Omoto added to his studies.
And every night, Omoto could not repose rather than readjusted in study.
        Omoto became the class prefect of his class as elected by the school management, he had taken to many quiz around Edo state. And he ought to come out with his first position.
        Omoto was an indispensible child to all his school teachers, in fact, Omoto’s performance deserve creditable and he passed out from his primary school with excellence and honor.
